Rapid Fire

Installation media piece exhibited in Mason Gross Galleries under the show title "Visions for the Future" (2019).

The technological advancements made are nostalgic impressions of the past, reflecting the useless nature of the current state of  inventions made for the sake of luxury.

Though the viewer is able to experience light in a darkened enclosed space, they are made to believe that the fire is the source of light, when it is in fact the monitor's light that illuminates their view.

This installation poses a question: are technological advancements made to benefit and aid mankind, or are they a luxury in it's repetitive design of the past?
