Sarah Walley graduated from Rutgers University, enrolling in the Mason Gross School of the Arts with a BFA in painting and photography.
An artist based in the New Jersey tri-state area, her practice revolves around experimentation, utilizing traditional mediums (such as paint and charcoal) within animation to create expressive works that resonate with the viewer. Her work often references and appropriates art history to draw a parallel to the tradition of painting within a digitized setting. This creative pursuit allows her work to communicate with viewers authentically and fluidly, by virtue of her artistic expression.
Her professional background in photography as a career has allotted her the ability to make her work transformative, incorporating her knowledge in camera settings, lighting, and scene composition within time-based works in animation and motion design.
