Inspired by women Dutch painters in the 17th century, particularly Clara Peeters' Still Life of Fish and Cat (1620), this project set out to incorporate my background in art history and experiment with frame-by-frame painted animation.
The process of painting each frame appropriates historical painting within a digitized and contemporary medium.
